Welcome to Barcelona!

Hello, we are Sònia Viver and Sandra Benzal, private tour guides in Barcelona and we can turn your time in our city into a great experience! Your happiness, our priority!

We are locals and this makes a big difference, we have lived a lot of changes in our city, and we can explain Barcelona´s life from a local approach. Explore and discover our culture, history and people by taking our private guided tours in Barcelona and our day tours outside the city .

We guide in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian, German and Portuguese.

We have a wide experience as guides so we know how to optimize your time and to adapt the tour to your age, timing or special interest.

We have the Official License as Barcelona Guides **, only licensed guides can help you to skip the long lines in the famous monuments, saving you time, or to arrive to the places when they are less packed with big tour groups. Spend time enjoying the sight, not on the line!

Another of our passions is the wine world, Sandra has her sommelier certificate since 2009 and since then she has never stopped studying and tasting all the wines in Catalonia and in Spain.

If you are a wine lover and when  travelling you enjoy drinking local wines , eating local food and  love taking a day off the fast beat of the city to visit some winery not far ,  have a look at our private wine tours in Barcelona and the most famous wine regions in Catalonia.

Relax and enjoy the city, we take care of the rest!

*Our service as Private Tour Guide means that you do not share your guide with other people; we are focus in giving you and your team the best experience.

** If your guide does not wear a yellow badge, is not a legal Barcelona official guide and cannot walk with you inside the different venues and explain them. Tour guides are required to show their guide´s badge.

As licensed tour guides we have passed the official exams of the Catalan Government and we update our knowledge year after year going to seminars and art courses to become better guides.

When you book a Barcelona tour guide, it is important to check the guide´s license number! Do not place yourself at risk by using an unregistered, unlicensed and illegal guide.

Covid-19 Notice

At A guide in Barcelona we adapt to new times. How?

For your peace of mind, the guide will use a microphone and you will have a receiver with single-use headphones (although you can also use your own) in order to keep you distance to stay safe.

As we only do private tours, you will not share the guide with strangers, and you will make the visits comfortably avoiding crowds.

Hydro alcoholic gel will be at your disposal to ensure hand disinfection after visiting monuments or museums.

The guides of A guide in Barcelona, we know our way around the city, so whenever possible, we will take you through the less frequented streets to avoid the crowds.

As partners of the Catalan Tourism Agency, we are up to date with all the news about the protocols to follow to visit any of the monuments and museums in the city, so we will ensure your safety at any time.

CHAUFFEURED TOURS

The company that provides drivers for our chauffeured tours has implemented the required measures to protect passengers.

Drivers will be wearing masks and globes during the entire service, while passengers are only required masks inside the vehicle. There will be sanitizing gel available inside the vehicle for both passengers and driver. The vehicle capacity will be reduced to the requirements of the local Authorities.

We encourage our guests to use their own masks and sanitizing gel, and wash their hands regularly on tour, as well as avoid physical contact as much as possible.
Other safety measures might be required by museums and sites when they start opening. This page will be updated as we become aware of the new policies.
