The Gaudí and wine tasting tour in Gràcia: because you love different places.

Casa Vicens is the first important work by Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona and sowed the seeds of all his architectural work. It was for many years an extraordinary house just to be enjoyed from outside since it was inhabited until very recently, nowadays it is open for visits since November 16^th 2017, making of it one of the Gaudí best works in Barcelona.

In 1883, Manel Vicens i Montaner, a stock and currency broker, entrusted the young architect with designing his summer garden home in the former village of Gràcia. It is his first masterpiece and one of the first buildings to kick off the Modernisme movement in Catalonia and Europe.

We will start this tour with the private guided visit of Casa Vicens, followed by a nice walk in its neighbourhood known as Gràcia .With its narrow streets and leafy squares, Gràcia has a village feel, and it was, in fact, an independent town until it was swallowed by the city in the late 1800s.

Unlike the busy centre, it’s uncrowded. The local population is a diverse mix of cool hipsters, young families, and the elderly. Traffic is minimal, so the neighbourhood feels quiet and relaxed, perfect for wandering.

Our walk will finish in a beautiful small wine bar where I, your local official guide and sommelier, will guide you through the tasting of 4 different Catalan wines ( one cava, one white and two reds , all from different Catalan Origen Appellations – DOs) . Four different types of cheeses with marmalades and bread toasts will be served as well together with the wines.
